Most laptop hard drives are removable,  for security purposes and upgrade purposes    (remember the story of the Government laptop stolen from the boot of car many years ago). The other benefit of removable disks is the ease of upgrade. Hard drives do become full with larger programs requiring more space, they become damaged through movement and viruses. Hard drive sizes vary  in size most laptops currently in use will have between 3gb and the recently supplied 60gb. Hard drives as with other products are constrained by the Bios, older laptops may not recognise larger capacity drives. Please call and we will discuss your requirements and make sure you get best out of an upgrade. We supply hard drive caddies for laptops, every laptop has a different caddy. We often supply additional caddies allowing the swapping of two drives.
